La Frontera: Hopes & Fears Exhibition

I’m happy to announce that a couple of my pieces are up for view at the Doña Ana Arts Council (DACC) gallery in Las Cruces, New Mexico. The pieces on display are Virtual Nothings and Between Selfishness and Sympathy with an especial appearance of the "Confirm Humanity" poster. I got to use an old teller window to display one of these posters. (Your computer screen cannot contain the hype of my excitement.)

If you are around the Las Cruces area in June, make sure to stop by this exhibition. My work is shown along the works of Adrián Aguirre, Elizabeth Calil Zarur, Paul Ratje, and Sterling Trantham. All of us from the Ciudad Juárez-El Paso-Las Cruces area.

DAAC news release:

“All five artists, in their own unique voice and in a range of media--painting, drawing, mixed media, video, and photography – document the emotional landscape facing those who cross La Frontera … The combined work of the five artists tells a larger story of what the border really means to those who cross it and contributes to our understanding of the reality of their experiences.”

The exhibit will be available for viewing June 1-28 at DAAC, 250 W. Amador Ave.

DAAC hours are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday, 5-8 p.m. during First Friday (June 3) and noon-5 p.m. during Second Saturday (June 11).
